Linda Meigs, candidate for Alabama State House District 20, has spent her teen years and most of her adult years in Huntsville. She is proud to have been a member of Grissom High School’s second graduating class, then to have returned to teach there for 25 years. She taught in Huntsville City Schools’ Magnet Programs: at the Academy for Academics and Arts as well as at the Lee High Magnet Program.
Linda Meigs is a creative and accomplished foreign language teacher. Recognized for her passion for teaching young people and for encouraging them to open their minds to the world beyond the classroom, she has been selected Teacher of the Year by Huntsville City Schools as well as by multiple statewide language teacher associations.
Linda and her husband David have two children, Lauren and Matthew. Both children enjoyed and benefitted from the creativity, diversity, and community of the magnet schools. They were both valedictorians of their graduating classes at Lee High School, and have continued to excel in college and in their adult life.
Linda has served as a leader in her church and in citywide and statewide organizations. As a leader, Linda listens to others who have different views on issues and works to find common ground and build consensus.
Linda is a proven public servant who listens, leads and will make sure your voice is heard. She wants to serve as your voice in the Alabama State House.
