The community should be able to vote on having an Education Lottery!

Linda Meigs has dedicated over 30 years as a teacher in Huntsville.  She, her husband and their two children are proud products of Huntsville City Schools.  She understands the value of public education; it has the power to transform students’ lives. Linda Meigs supports an Education Lottery to increase funding for Alabama’s educational system.

According to the research of Professor James J. Heckman, a Nobel laureate in economics, every $1 invested in early childhood education yields $6-7 in benefits: better health outcomes, better lifetime earnings and less likelihood of being involved in the criminal justice system. Therefore, Linda Meigs wants to invest in our children and their education.

Also, Linda Meigs wants to invest in high school students’ education with both dual-enrollment college classes and professional training for skilled trades. Alabama deserves a skilled and educated workforce that will help our community succeed and prosper.
